GLASGOW – British deputy prime minister Nick Clegg last night dismissed being attacked with blue paint as “not a big deal”.

The Liberal Democrat leader was splattered with paint at a meeting with grassroots Lib Dem members in Glasgow during a UK tour.

One man, understood to be in his early 20s, has been arrested in connection with the incident at Woodside Hall in the west of the city, police said.

Clegg told Real Radio: “These things happen. It’s not a big deal.”
