Cigarettes worth £1.1m seized

Customs officers have seized a consignment of cigarettes valued at £1.1 million from a truck at Carrickmacross.

Six million Jet brand cigarettes were concealed in a consignment of gas cylinders imported from Singapore through Dublin Port. The cigarettes were believed to be for the illegal street trade. A number of suspects are being questioned.
