A Ballyfermot man used a syringe to steal money from people at cash machines, Kilmainham District Court, heard yesterday. Patrick Byrne (23), of Colepark Road, Ballyfermot, pleaded guilty to stealing a total of £255 from people at cash machines in Ballyfermot in February. He also admitted attempting to rob two German tourists at St James's Hospital on March 2nd.
Judge Gillian Hussey heard that Byrne was serving a Circuit Court sentence of 27 months, and added 24 months to that, recommending that he serve the full sentence.
