A man who used an accomplice to distract a car owner with a phone call while his vehicle was being stolen has been given an 18-month suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Pascal McKeogh (24), of Tiermohan, Donadea, Naas, Co Kildare, pleaded guilty to larceny of the car at Scholarstown Road, Rathfarnham on November 21st, 1997, and to three counts of obtaining goods by false pretences using a credit card found in the car.

Judge Dominic Lynch imposed an 18-month sentence, suspended for two years.
