ALGIERS - Two car bombs exploded in Tlemcen, one of Algeria's great Islamic cities, killing seven people and injuring 12 less than two weeks before legislative elections.
The Maghreb hotel, where members of a commission over seeing the elections were staying, "was practically blown away," a resident said. The other bomb went off in the old, low income Bab Ezzir district of the city, site of several brothels.
