Cannabis worth an estimated £35 million sterling (€52 million) was seized during dock raids on two freight containers in Liverpool last night.
Seven people were in custody following yesterday's Customs and Excise operation at Seaford Docks. All seven, six men and a woman, are from addresses in Britain.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police described the haul as "absolutely massive", saying the two containers were full of brick-sized slabs of the drug.
