Cannabis plants worth €3.5m seized

A substantial quantity of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €3.5m has been seized by gardaí in a series of searches across the country today.

Searches in Rathcormack, Cork, Clonroache, Wexford, Laytown and in Dublin uncovered approximately 4,200 plants.

The searches were conducted in connection with Operation Wireless - a nationwide Garda investigation into criminal activity and organised criminal actions.

A total of 236 searches were carried out as part of the operation today.
