Gardaí have arrested two men today following a major cannabis discovery in the Drumcondra area of Dublin.

Gardaí have arrested two men today following a major cannabis discovery in the Drumcondra area of Dublin.

In an ongoing Garda operation, some 1,000 cannabis plants were found in a "grow house" in a commercial premises. The plants have a street value of €500,000, subject to analysis, according to gardaí.

Two men in their 30s were arrested under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

They are being detained at the Bridewell Garda station and can be held for up to seven days.
