Canada is back on the calendar next year in an expanded World Championship that will feature 18 races for the first time in Formula One history.

The race in Montreal has been included in a revised schedule approved by the World Council of the sport's governing body, FIA, at a meeting in Paris today.

But the Grand Prix is subject to teams agreeing financial compensation to run without tobacco advertising after the race was kicked off following the introduction of anti-tobacco laws.

The race will take place on June 13th, one week before the United States Grand Prix, while San Marino has now moved to April 25th and the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Germany has been switched to May 30th.
