The sod has been turned on the Church of Ireland's first integrated spiritual and social development in the Republic. The £460,000 centre is also the church's first new project to be undertaken in Kerry since the 1860s.
The centre includes a worship area, three halls and meeting rooms, toilets, showers and kitchen. The sod turning ceremony was conducted by the former Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Donald Caird, and the Bishop of Limerick, Ardfert and Aghadoe, Dr Edward Darling.
