US President George W Bush said today that he was close to agreement with Congress on a "strong resolution" on using force against Iraq.
Following talks with the leaders of both parties in Congress, Mr Bush said: "We are moving toward a strong resolution. And all of us, and many others in Congress, are united in our determination to confront an urgent threat to America."
Again highlighting the threat from chemical and biological weapons he has accused Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein of developing, Mr Bush added: "The demands of the UN Security Council must be followed. The Iraqi dictator must be disarmed. These requirements will be met or they will be enforced."
