Bus driver gets life for murder

London - A bus driver, Darren Vickers, was jailed for life yesterday for the murder of Jamie Lavis (8).

London - A bus driver, Darren Vickers, was jailed for life yesterday for the murder of Jamie Lavis (8).

A jury at Manchester Crown Court returned a unanimous guilty verdict after hearing Vickers befriended, groomed and seduced his victim before abusing and killing him. Jamie, from Greater Manchester, disappeared on May 5th, 1997, after playing on Vickers's bus. Five months later his dismembered remains were found in Stockport.
