LONDON - An investigation into a pornography scandal was launched at a top security British psychiatric hospital yesterday after pornographic videos were found. The Department of Health confirmed that the videos were found at Broadmoor during a search ordered after a similar scandal at another special hospital, Ashworth. According to reports, senior staff were investigating a sex ring dealing in child pornography videos.
Broadmoor, near Crowthorne, Berkshire, houses some of Britain's most dangerous criminals, including Peter Sutcliffe, known as the "Yorkshire Ripper" and "Black Panther" Donald Neilson.
According to the Mail on Sunday, senior Broadmoor staff were examining more than 100 videos and a collection of computer discs seized in a raid. It quoted a source inside the hospital as saying: "The videos are vile and disgusting and involve child pornography".
