British cyclist David Millar was today banned from the sport for two years after admitting to doping offences.

The Scot was also stripped of his 2003 world time trial title and fined about £900 for taking the banned drug EPO.

Millar, 27, won the title last October but on July 1st privately confessed to judge Richard Pallain that he had used the drug.

An independent disciplinary panel sitting for British Cycling considered information from a number of sources and also questioned Millar before finding him guilty of intentional doping.
