LONDON - Britain said yesterday that it was banning all large-calibre pistols from July 1st after parliament approved a £150 million package to compensate owners.
Legislation was brought in following widespread horror at the Dunblane massacre last year when a deranged gunman murdered 16 children and their teacher at a Scottish primary school.
Parliament will vote today on whether to extend the ban to pistols of below .22 inch calibre.
