A 13-year-old boy who had sex with a 14-year-old mildly mentally handicapped girl during a game of hide-and-seek has been remanded for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The now 15-year-old admitted the offence to gardai. He pleaded guilty to unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl, now aged 16, in a south Dublin suburb on February 12th, 1999.
Judge Elizabeth Dunne directed the preparation of a victim impact report and put back the case for sentencing until July 24th next, with the boy on continuing bail.
