AN 11 year old boy who was, badly injured in an accident on Wednesday died in Beaumont Hospital last night, a spokeswoman for the hospital said early this morning.

The victim's mother contacted gardai at Clontarf yesterday morning, after an appeal had been issued for information on his identity.

The boy was badly injured when hit by a motorcycle near the UCI cinema complex in Coolock at around 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but, because he was carrying no identification and had not been reported missing by late Wednesday night, gardai issued his description through the newspapers and radio.
