The Hague - A Bosnian Croat, Mr Pasko Ljubicic, indicted by the Dutch-based UN war crimes court for allegedly planning a massacre of over 100 Bosnian Muslims, was detained in the UN detention centre near The Hague yesterday.

On his departure from Zagreb, Mr Ljubicic's lawyer, Mr Tomislav Jonjic, said he would appear before the tribunal next week.

Mr Ljubicic (36) has been indicted for his role as a commander of the first company of a battalion of Bosnian Croat military police involved in attacks on the central Bosnian Muslim villages of Vitez and Busovaca between June 1992 and July 1993.
