The book of evidence in a case of alleged sexual abuse of five young males in Trudder House, Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow, has been served, Wicklow District Court was told yesterday.
A State Solicitor, Mr Laurence Cullen, told Mr Justice Donnacha O Buachalla that the case involved the taking of depositions from 10 witnesses and this had been discussed with defence counsel who were in agreement that the process could take up to four days.
The charges relate to 10 summary charges of buggery and indecent assault on five young males at Trudder House during the period January 1985 to December 1987.
On the application of the State Solicitor, Mr Justice O Bunchalla agreed to adjourn the case for two weeks, at which point the dates would be set for the taking of depositions.
