Canadian aerospace company Bombardier announced last night that it is investing £70 million in its Belfast plant where it will build a large part of a new 100-seat regional jet.
That announcement was preceded by CyberSource, which handles billions of pounds-worth of internet payments, saying it will recruit 56 software development graduates for a new research and development centre in Belfast.
Much of this morning will be spent at the conference with heads of existing US companies already established in Northern Ireland explaining to potential investors what advantages they could gain by setting up there.
Later in the day Prime Ministers Brown and Cowen will join the conference when it moves to the Stormont Parliament buildings.
