Berry Bros & Rudd, famous for its quaint old wine shop in London's St James's Street (and a much newer one in Heathrow's Terminal 4), is responding to increased demand from Irish customers by moving in this direction.
In partnership with Cassidy Wines, it has opened a Dublin-based wholesale operation, Fields, with the aim of introducing a new selection of premium wines primarily into restaurants.
The managing director is Peter Foley of Foleys' Fine Wines in Cabinteely, the man who first brought Berry's Own Selection wines into Ireland, and he'll also be in charge of the shop which Berry Bros is planning to open in Dublin city centre later this year.
