Police in Northern Ireland are searching for two man in connection with an armed robbery which took place in east Belfast earlier today.

A man armed with a handgun approached a cash-in-transit driver collecting money from a discount shop within Connswater Retail Park at about noon.

The man forced the driver to hand over a sum of cash before making his escape in a dark coloured Vauxhall hatch-back car.

The man is described as aged in his late 20s, of thin build and with cropped hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket. The car was driven by a second man.

The van driver was not injured during the incident.
