THE Cranberries have cancelled their upcoming European tour and suspended all operations for the foreseeable future in light of the worsening medical condition of singer Dolores O'Riordan (23).
A full medical report will be made available on O'Riordan's condition next week, but it is believed to be stress related. The singer, who has suffered from exhaustion in the past, is keen to emphasise that the band is not breaking up.
The news comes just weeks after the Limerick band cancelled its US tour midway through due to the singer's condition. The band said it believed a few weeks' rest would help the singer, but at a meeting at O'Riordan's house near Dingle earlier this week the band and its management felt she wasn't up to going on tour.
The illness is believed to have been brought about by overwork. It is unlikely the band will appear live again for the next 18 months.
