A SELF CONFESSED drugs smuggler wept yesterday as she was freed on continuing bail after pleading guilty to smuggling £300,000 worth of drugs into the North just over a year ago.
Margaret Sarah Black (28) of Joanmount Gardens, Belfast, kissed and embraced her partner David Addis (26) when he was remanded in custody. The pair pleaded guilty at Belfast Crown Court to smuggling £300,000 worth of cannabis from Spain in December 1994, and possessing the drug with intent to supply.
Securing bail for Black, her lawyer told Judge James Brady that to jail her would have an appalling effect on her young daughter. Black and Addis will be sentenced later by Judge Brady, after the trial of Mr Patrick Joseph O'Neill (34) from Royal Mews in Dunmurry.
