Vienna - An Austrian woman bishop who has been outspoken in criticising Mr Joerg Haider's Freedom Party is reported to have received threats from far-right militants.
Bishop Gertraud Knoll has been subject to "a campaign of harassment and lies," including anonymous threats written in Nazi terminology threatening both herself and her family, according to the independent daily Kurier. She had decided to take leave from her post to deal with the threats.
