Cape Canaveral - NASA needs a break in cloud cover to launch six astronauts on time before dawn today and begin orbital construction of the International Space Station, officials said yesterday.
"If clouds and/or showers are north, south, east or west of us, we're good to go. If they're right overhead, then we've got a problem," a shuttle weather officer said.
He said a forecast of a cloud ceiling of 1,220 metres and possible showers meant there was a 60 per cent chance of keeping the space shuttle, Endeavour, on the launch pad.
