A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Dublin earlier today.

During the incident a 74-year-old man was attacked by two men armed with a screwdriver and an iron bar as he was moving his car outside his home in Iona Villas in Glasnevin at about 8am.

The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 22-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently being held at Mountjoy Garda station.

The search for the second man continues.
