Army engineers have repaired 28 lifts in the Ballymun tower blocks since Saturday. The technical work has been done under the supervision of qualified personnel from Dublin Corporation. Soldiers are continuing to assist tenants who have difficulty in carrying goods up stairs.
On Monday, lift engineers voted overwhelmingly to reject a Labour Court recommendation and will continue their nine-week national strike.
