Army 'makes safe' Dublin device

An Army bomb disposal Team was called to a house in Dublin this afternoon to deal with an improvised explosive device.

An Army bomb disposal Team was called to a house in Dublin this afternoon to deal with an improvised explosive device.

The team was called to the property in Finglas at about 2.50pm following a request from gardaí after the device was discovered outside.

An Army spokesman said the device was made safe without needing a controlled explosion. The area was declared safe at 4pm.

The device has been removed for further examination by the Defence Forces and will be handed over to gardaí when the examination is complete.
