Armed robbers got away with about £2,500 in two raids in Shercock, Co Cavan, yesterday.
A single raider, masked and carrying a handgun, entered the post office at 2.15 p.m. and demanded cash. He took £2,000.
At the same time, two armed, men entered the National Irish Bank in the town. They escaped with about £500.
The three men made their getaway in a white Vauxhall Cavalier, which had been stolen earlier in Dundalk.
