London - Lord Archer, the disgraced former Conservative candidate for Mayor of London, yesterday returned to the House of Lords - and took his usual seat on the backbenches to listen to question time.
The millionaire novelist quit the mayoral race last November after fresh allegations over his libel case against the Daily Star in the late 1980s. He has since been suspended by the Conservatives for a five-year period after an inquiry by the party's ethics and integrity committee.
