Palestinian President Mr Yasser Arafat held talks with Egyptian President Mr Hosni Mubarak today to discuss US peace proposals for the Middle East.

Foreign Minister Mr Amr Moussa said after the talks President Bill Clinton's proposals required further clarification.
"There must be interpretations and explanations of the proposals. No one can sign now without knowing what he is going to sign," he said.
"The issue is not whether to accept or refuse but to build a position towards the US proposals."
Mr Arafat was due to hold talks with European Union foreign policy chief Mr Javier Solana in Gaza later today. Mr Solana is expected to try to persuade the opposing leaders to accept Mr Clinton's proposals.
Israel and the Palestinians have 20 days until Mr Clinton leaves office to decide whether to agree to his proposals on highly charged issues such as the fate of Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees and Jewish settlements.
