Six members of an Irish family are to be tried in England in April on charges of slavery and servitude, following a police raid on a Travellers’ caravan park in Bedfordshire last September.

John Connors (34), Johnny Connors (27), Tommy Connors jnr (26), James (Jimmy) Connors (23), Patrick Connors (20) and Josie Connors (30), pleaded not guilty at Luton crown court yesterday.

They face charges of conspiracy to hold a person in servitude and conspiracy to require a person to perform forced, or compulsory labour.

All six are to appear at Luton crown court on April 16th for trial.
