LIMA – President Ollanta Humala’s approval rating fell for the second straight month in November to 56 per cent, hurt by a corruption scandal and social conflicts over natural resources, pollster Ipsos said yesterday.
Despite this Mr Humala, a leftist former military officer who has taken a centrist position since taking office in July, is still the most popular Peruvian leader in two decades. He campaigned on promises to fight corruption, attract private investment, and spread wealth more equitably. – (Reuters)
