SAN FRANCISCO – Apple plans to close US retail stores for several hours today so employees can take part in a company-wide celebration of the life of co-founder Steve Jobs.
Store employees in the US will use that time to view a live broadcast of the event, which is being held at an outdoor amphitheatre at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
The celebration – which will be held from 10am to 11.30am west coast time – (from 6pm Irish time) will follow a private memorial service for the late tech visionary at Stanford University.
This service is expected to be attended by Silicon Valley luminaries, politicians and celebrities. – (Reuters)
