Apple posts lower second-quarter profit

For its fiscal second quarter ended March 29, California-based Apple said it had net income of $14 million,or 4 cents a share, compared with year-ago net income of $40million, or 11 cents a share.

Revenue fell to $1.48 billion from $1.50 billion

Analysts polled by tracking firm Thomson First Call hadforecast Apple to post a profit, on average, of 2 cents ashare, within a range of 1 cent to 4 cents, on revenue of $1.46billion.
