Apple has acquired specialist music software-maker Emagic. It will become a wholly-owned division of Apple, concentrating on developing new products for professionals.
The buy-out means Windows offerings will be discontinued at the end of September.
Emagic's flagship program Logic is used by more than 200,000 musicians worldwide.
Mac products currently account for 65% of its revenues.
