Another Beatles single

THE Beatles' new single Real Love gets its first play on British radio today

THE Beatles' new single Real Love gets its first play on British radio today. It is the 24th Beatles single to be released since Love Me Do went on sale in October 1962.

Real Love is the second new record from the Beatles in the last three months. Free As A Bird was released on December 4th last year to a mixed critical reception.

Written by John Lennon, Real Love was sung by the murdered star to his own piano accompaniment. After Lennon's death the cassette was passed to the remaining band members with Yoko Ono's blessing.

They decided to use as little state of the art recording equipment as possible to give Real Love timeless appeal. To enhance that effect, Paul McCartney uses a stand up double bass originally owned by Elvis Presley's bassist, the late Bill Black.
