Telecom services group Alphyra has narrowed its full year losses and said increasing competition, particularly in Ireland may put pressure on margins and revenues going forward.

The company which is in the midst of an attempted management buyout posted a pre-tax loss for 2002 of €18.10 million against loss €31.47 million, on sales of eueo45.397 million against €31.938 million.

Revenue of €48.7million included a contribution of €11.3 million from the Irish electronic payment business while Alphyra's British business added at €17 million.
