The august members of the Oireachtas Committee on Public Enterprise and Transport, led by chairman, Sean Doherty, were spotted clicking their heels in the corridors outside the Leinster House restaurant on Tuesday. They were about to enter the small diningroom for a special dinner when their path was barred by staff. The Ceann Comhairle was dining and as usual he wished to be alone. So, not just they, but everyone else, must wait. Seamus Pattison, it appears to some deputies, is developing the habits of the late Pius XII, who would allow only a sparrow's company as he ate.
