Kijevo - Three ethnic Albanians died during clashes with Serbian police in a village in Kosovo province yesterday. Police said one of their patrols was attacked in the village by suspected members of the ethnic Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The bodies of the ethnic Albanians, with assault rifles lying nearby, were shown to journalists by police.

Ethnic Albanian leader Mr Ibrahim Rugova and Yugoslav President Mr Slobodan Milosevic met for the first time on Friday in Belgrade to discuss Kosovo's future status. The outcome is not clear.
