Regional airline Aer Arann Express is to increase the flights on its Cork-Dublin service from two to five per day from June 3rd.
Ms Jennifer Mooney, marketing manager at Aer Arann Express, said the move is part of Aer Arann’s strategy of ensuring Irish people have access to a reliable air service that meets the needs of the local community.
"We will be working with both business and leisure interests in the region to further develop our route network from Cork to destinations in the UK, allowing increased access to the South West," she said.
Aer Arann Express is one of the fastest-growing regional airlines in Europe and expects to carry about 360,000 passengers in 2002.
It offers 190 scheduled services per week from Dublin to Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Knock, Sligo and on the recently introduced Shannon route. Aer Arann Express is the third-largest carrier flying from Dublin in terms of flight frequency.
