Dhaka - At least seven people were killed and more than 100 injured during a gun battle between rival groups at Munshiganj, 30 km south of the capital Dhaka, Bangladesh police said yesterday.
Police said supporters of two local council leaders had clashed on Saturday. Five people were killed on the spot and two died later at a hospital.
At least 15 of the wounded were policemen, police said.
