Five men have died in road accidents in recent days. In Northern Ireland, one man was killed and six other men were injured yesterday after a car crossed the central reservation of the M2 in Belfast and collided with two cars.
Mr Keith Madigan (19), Ballintea, Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny, was killed in a single vehicle accident at Ballylusky Road, Mullinavat, at 2 a.m. yesterday.
On Sunday night, Mr Patrick Heavey (29), was killed when he was struck by a lorry on Main Street, Monasterevin, Co Kildare.
On Saturday, Mr Gerry Rowe (30), Parslickstown Green, Mulhuddart, Co Dublin, died after being struck by a van at Church Road, Mulhuddart.
Meanwhile, a man who was involved in a single-vehicle accident in Clones, Co Monaghan, on Friday morning has died. Mr Aidan McFarland (47), from Fairview, Clones, was taken to Cavan General Hospital but died on Sunday night.
A 23-year-old motorcyclist who died following a single-vehicle accident at Whitestown Road, Rush, Co Dublin, at 11.10 p.m. on Sunday was named last night as Mr James O'Rourke, from Swords.
