Algiers - Twenty people were killed in a double massacre in the western Chlef region on Sunday night - and newspaper reports said yesterday they were carried out by armed Muslim extremists.
Fourteen people were found with their throats slit in ElMerdja and six in neighbouring Sharidj, the newspapers said.
