Bluebell bonanzas in Kilkenny
For luxury at a modest price make a beeline for Mount Juliet. The Co Kilkenny estate is at its most beautiful in spring time when a blanket of bluebells covers much of the grounds. The hotel is currently offering three night breaks from €450 for two sharing a club room in its Hunters Yard, including breakfast and one dinner.

While you’re there, check out some of the discounts available at the spa, such as a rejuvenating facial peel reduced from €70 to €35, while stocks last. Alternatively, to get your complexion really glowing, nab one of the horses from the equestrian centre and enjoy 25 kilometres of bridle path. mountjuliet.ie

Stay two nights in dreamy Dromoland Castle in Co Clare this month and you get a third night free.

The luxury hotel, which has wow factor in spades, may be more affordable than you think, given that the three-night midweek package in a deluxe bedroom includes breakfast, and up to two children can stay too, for a total price of €470.

That’s a great rate for any five-star hotel, but hey, this is Dromoland. Bag it before it books out. dromoland.ie
