Eoin O'Connor, artist
Young Dubliner Eoin O'Connor is among the artists exhibiting at one of the capital's most consistently engaging gallery spaces, Hillsboro Fine Art, off South Anne Street. The exhibition, Fresh Paint, brings together four artists at pivotal stages in their careers - O'Connor
is in there with Natalia Black, Fiona Dowling and Hugh McCarthy. All four, as the title suggests, take a fresh approach to painting. O'Connor's style is immediately eye-catching, exploring with a healthy mixture of cynicism and grace the changing shapes of the contemporary urban environment. Just three years out of the National College of Art and Design, he is fast making a name among both public and private collectors; his work is included in the Office of Public Works and CAP Foundation collections, and a solo exhibition is planned at the RHA soon. Catch his works of deceptive fragility until next weekend. Hillsboro Fine Art, 3 Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2, 01-6777905, www.hillsborofineart.com.
