From Ireland to the Arctic: two schools meet across the world

Charlie Bird brought his camera to the Grise Fiord school in the Arctic to watch them meet Scoil Réalt na Mara in Skerries via Skype

We've matched Scoil Realt na Mara in Skerries, Co Dublin, with the local Grise Fiord school, Umimmak school, in the Canadian Arctic. Here, Charlie introduces the two schools via Skype and watched a friendship begin. Afterwards, the Skerries school challenged Charlie to a snow task, asking the Grise Fiord students to take Charlie out for a snowball fight and to write the name of their school in the snow. The schools will be staying in contact throughout the Arctic project. for more on Charlie Bird's trip to the Arctic see irishtimes.com/arctic
