Starry, starry night

This cold snap is a good time to enjoy the splendour of the night sky

This cold snap is a good time to enjoy the splendour of the night sky. On the first and third Wednesday of every month Dunsink Observatory holds open nights that are free to attend but must be applied for in advance. Next month a family evening is planned for children under 12 with their parents. They will be able to view the skies and will be given sheets on how to read the sky to take home with them. Sessions run from 7.30pm to 10pm. Apply by contacting Hilary O’Donnell on 087-629 4966 or email hod@cp.dias.ie.
