Elaine Heaney and Mandy Monaghan make jewellery out of horsehair and silver under the label Hamish and Ozzie, after their two horses.
The pair saw an opening for making keepsake jewellery, a contemporary take on Victorian mourning jewellery, as a memento of a favourite horse or simply as an unusual birthday or special celebration gift. The handmade bracelets use 270 tail hairs in two or three colour combinations which are washed, braided and finished with silver or gold fixtures, using the skills of a Dublin goldsmith. Prices are from €110 up to €135. More details from hamishandozzie.com.
